The Journey
Schooled at Paul Roos Gymnasium, Steven made his Stormers debut as a teenager and grew into one of the most respected front-rowers in the world game. His path ran from Western Province and the Stormers to Bordeaux in France and Ulster in Ireland — and, most proudly, to the Springboks and a golden era of South African rugby, including the World Cup-winning campaigns of 2019 and 2023. More than the medals, his story is about loyalty, humility and the unseen work that lets a team win.
